In a new sample article from the pages of Lone Warrior, “Battles in the Hyborian Age”, James Davis shares a map-less campaign approach for generating major battles and minor skirmishes in Robert E. Howard’s Hyboria, that could work equally well for any real-world Ancients campaign.

The article includes details of a non-player general system and suggestions for playing the campaign for both DBA and Armati.
You can find it on the Sample Articles page.

Great read
Any idea which LW this was from (I’m struggling to pin it down)…? I’m guessing it must be an older issue, as the links go to a website for Fanaticus (DBA site) which is long gone.
I’d love to hear more from the author about how he ran this.
Hi Martin,
This article looks to be from issue 193 (Jan – March 2016).
Almost 10 years old, so no surprise the links are broken!
Cheers!

Not that old, then, but predating my rejoin. If the author had any further details on his process that would be really interesting. It looks like a campaign idea well worth exploring.
Thanks for the info., John.
Cheers!
