Paul Le Long reviews a board game about Napoleon’s campaigns that is specifically designed for solo play. He likes it.

It’s on the Reviews page.

That looks really interesting – I think I might try one of the others in the series – Alexander or Rommel perhaps. Not because they look more interesting but the prices for Napoleon are a little…steep. 🙂 Looks as if it’s out of production at the moment, but the other two are fairly easily available from game stores / Amazon.

Thanks for the steer though !

Jon – I don’t have either of those games but take a look at Single Handed Warfare on YouTube for an excellent review of Alexander; see also the Late Night Gamer on YouTube for a great playthrough of Rommel. In either case they’ll show you which one you will prefer. There’s also a Pacific War game – Fleet Commander Nimitz – that looks good. I think Single Handed Warfare has a review.

To me Rommel looks the weakest title; I think it was the first and is a little less sophisticated.

Anyway, I’d be interested to hear what you think about whichever you end up getting.
