Peter R. Barkworth shares:
Here are three photos of my present wargaming activities.
1. Three buildings from the Airfix La Haye Sainte kit turned into separate buildings as per the Terence Wise article from an old Airfix Magazine.
2. Another La Haye Saint kit being painted as the kit, more or less.
3. A two-dimensional 1/72 scale trireme being painted up for my Mykale 479 BC project. The trireme was cut from an old cupboard door – a bit of recycling!

Thanks for the pictures, Peter.
Does the trireme project involve use of a bandsaw? (Very clever design – looking good already).
Thank you, Martin
.I made each trireme in three pieces – the hull, the curved upper stern and the horn-like upper prow. Basic shapes are cut out using a jig saw and then any difficult bits are done by hand with a coping saw. I’m sure a band saw would actually make the task much easier.
I simply wanted the basic shape for a scenario I’m working on and hopefully,, when painted, they’ll look the part.
Hi Peter,
My proof of the old adage that it doesn’t matter how much space you start with, eventually you’ll be modelling in a space about 6″ square! I remember thos old articles. There are some issues of the magazine, mainly late 1960s on the Internet Archive if anyone is interested.
